Bills Surprisingly Release Wide Receiver Ahead of Steelers Game
The Buffalo Bills landed a big pickup when the team brought in Brandin Cooks to help bolster the pass catching corps. However, the team has also surprisingly released another wide receiver to make space for Cooks.

One of the biggest issues the Bills have had through multiple seasons is the weakness of the pass catchers. When Stefon Diggs left for the New England Patriots, the unit was even worse off.
Despite arguably the best quarterback in the league, the Bills have continually missed out on adding a premier receiver to pair with Josh Allen.
Cooks should do well to be a strong weapon for Allen, as the longtime veteran has gone over the 1,000 receiving yard mark multiple times in his career. However, the former New Orleans Saints star will need to earn his keep before he can be pegged as a true WR1.
To make room for Cooks, the Bills have shockingly released former second-round pick Elijah Moore. Moore has not been a big factor in the passing game, picking up 112 yards through the regular season thus far.

Moore started his career with the New York Jets, being drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. After a small stint with the Jets, he would move to the Cleveland Browns for two seasons, and finally the Bills.
Through four and a half seasons in the NFL, Moore has 1,736 yards and eight touchdowns.
Allen still needs a strong wide receiver to emerge on the team, and Cooks could be that missing piece. Moore, on the other hand, is now free to sign with a new team.
