Billy Horschel’s Left-Handed Iron Shot at Valspar Will Blow Your Mind
Most golfers can only play either right or left-handed, not Billy Horschel.
The PGA Tour veteran hit the shot of the week, and maybe the best shot you will ever see, at The Valspar Championship Sunday when he turned his club upside down and hit it left-handed.
Now, you have seen players go left-handed before. But normally, that’s a small chip or putt around the green.
This was anything but.

His second shot on the par-5 5th nestled up next to a tree off the left side of the fairway, and he had 127 yards to the hole.
Horschel took considerable risk by hitting this shot, and it was incredible.
‘Billy Ho,’ as he is often referred, took a full swing, and it unbelievably landed on the green to give him a look at birdie from 31 feet.
The shot itself was mind-blowing and quite honestly, remarkable. But if he did not make the birdie putt, its importance is lessened.
But Horschel did indeed drain the 31-foot birdie putt.
That moved him to 2-under for the day. The former Florida Gator finished his round with a 4-under 67, and 8-under overall.
That likely will not be good enough for the win, as Justin Thomas and Viktor Hovland are pulling ahead, but it was the shot of the tournament without doubt.
Golf is generally challenging, but Horschel made an impossible shot look easy. For him to execute it without any issues and to make the putt gave him a momentum boost.
This shot was what he needed to kick start his round, but likely landing him another top 10.
