Blue Jays Get Bo Bichette-Red Sox Update Amid Rumors: Insider
The Toronto Blue Jays have been aggressive this offseason, but their homegrown star, Bo Bichette, is still without a new deal. Plenty of teams, including the Boston Red Sox, have been linked to him.
Bichette is one of the best players on the open market, and the Boston Red Sox have been linked to him in the last few days. However, CBS Sports Julian McWilliams revealed that the Red Sox are not looking at Bichette anymore, “unless his market changes.”
This is both good news and bad news for the Blue Jays. The good news is that one of the Blue Jays’ division rivals may not end up landing Bichette. However, it could also mean that his market is high, and that he will be expensive to retain.

The Blue Jays have already committed over $200 million to Dylan Cease and have agreed to sign Cody Ponce as well. They are reportedly trying to land Kyle Tucker, and he could demand north of $400 million. Signing both Bichette and Tucker is not impossible for the Blue Jays, but if Bichette’s market is higher than expected, it could become difficult.
Bichette has noted that he wants to stay in Toronto, but he is not expected to take a discount to stay. Plenty of teams will want him, and the Blue Jays will have to outbid or match the best offer.
