Blue Jays Manager Believes Toronto Could Have Swept Dodgers in World Series

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider claims that his team could have swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.
The Dodgers were losing throughout the entirety of Game 7 until catcher Will Smith hit the go-ahead solo home run in the top of the 11th inning.

Both the Dodgers and Blue Jays were pushed to the brink by each other in a nip-and-tuck World Series clash, though it was the veteran Los Angeles team that pulled off the victory.
The Dodgers entered the World Series as the heavy favorites, although the Blue Jays indeed demonstrated their quality and gave the defending champions all that they could handle.

In fact, Blue Jays manager John Schneider believes that Toronto could have swept the Dodgers if a few plays had gone their way.
“I thought we had chances to sweep them. I thought that we played our game, and our game is as good as anybody in baseball,” Schneider said.
“So is it two heavyweights going back and forth? You know, going back to the beginning of the series when people were calling it David versus Goliath, it’s not even f—ing close. They’re good. I put this group of guys against any other 26 players in the entire planet.
“We had our chances. We had our chances to beat them soundly, and we didn’t. And that’s baseball.”

Ultimately, the Blue Jays did not make the plays when it mattered most, falling short and ending up on the losing side. The Dodgers stepped up and delivered.
Miguel Rojas hit a game-tying home run with just two outs left in the top of the ninth inning, and Smith delivered a solo shot that allowed Yoshinbou Yamamoto to come in and get the final three outs needed.
Toronto has nothing to be ashamed of, but as Game 7 showed, the Dodgers are the deserving champions.
