Blue Jays Predicted To Trade $427 Million Vladimir Guerrero Jr. In Surprising Move
The Toronto Blue Jays have a very difficult decision to make regarding superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The superstar is entering the final year of his contract and he’s predicted to sign for upwards of $400 million in free agency next offseason.
While the Blue Jays are rumored to be working hard on an extension, it doesn’t appear that one is close.
Harold Reynolds of MLB Network recently predicted the Blue Jays would make a shocking decision and trade Guerrero before the 2025 season begins if they fail to come to an extension.

“He’ll finish where he starts the season,” Reynolds said on MLB Network. “I think if they’re not going to be able to lock him up, he’ll be traded before the season starts, a spring training blockbuster.”
If Toronto can’t come to terms on an extension, a blockbuster trade is absolutely on the table. Last offseason, the San Diego Padres opted to trade superstar Juan Soto before he could walk in free agency. This could be the Blue Jays taking a page out of San Diego’s book.
One team that makes a lot of sense as a potential suitor is the Boston Red Sox. While the Blue Jays would be trading him within the division, the Red Sox are going to have a real shot to land him in free agency next winter anyway.
Boston could ship away first baseman Triston Casas alongside a slew of other prospects to acquire Guerrero.
As of now, the Blue Jays are reportedly working toward an extension, but if they can’t land one, we could see a huge trade.
