Blue Jays Star Projected To Sign 8-Year, $216M Deal After World Series Loss
The Toronto Blue Jays saw Bo Bichette put together one of the more gutsy performances in recent memory as he bounced back from a tough injury to play in the World Series. Bichette gutted it out during a contract season in an attempt to chase the ultimate goal with the team.
But Bichette is a free agent now, and he could be headed for a new deal with a new team.
Zach Mentz of Cleveland.com recently projected Bichette would sign a massive eight-year, $216 million deal in free agency.

“Bichette is a two-time All-Star who has twice led the American League in hits,” Mentz wrote. “Oh, and he just hit one of the biggest home runs in Toronto Blue Jays history when his three-run blast gave Toronto a 3-0 lead in Game 7 of the World Series before. … Anywho, Bo is going to get paid, and it’s hard to imagine Toronto lets him walk.”
Bichette would be a fit with the Blue Jays on a new deal, but he might also fit with the Atlanta Braves.
The Braves need a shortstop this winter, and Bichette is the top name on the market. Signing him could fit the team and their future perfectly.
Either way, Bichette is seemingly headed for a life-changing contract after such a big season. His best production came at the perfect time. These two teams could get into quite a heated bidding war this offseason.
