Boston Celtics Reveal Concerning Injury Report vs Atlanta Hawks

The Boston Celtics are heading into their Friday night game with a concerning name on the injury report.

According to the official NBA injury report, the Celtics’ star forward Jaylen Brown is dealing with left Achilles tendinitis. As a result, he will be ruled out for Friday’s action against the Atlanta Hawks.

In Brown’s last time out, he checked in for 38 minutes against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

During that time, the star forward went 9-17 from the field to score 31 points. He also had eight rebounds, eight assists, and two steals. Brown’s production was enough to help the Celtics secure a big win over the Thunder, as they defeated OKC 119-109. With that win, the Celtics advanced to 48-24 on the season.

Before Friday’s clash with the Hawks, Brown’s latest absence came against the Milwaukee Bucks on March 2. At the time, the Celtics defeated the Bucks 108-81.

Beyond Brown, the Celtics will also be without Nikola Vucevic. The veteran center is dealing with a finger fracture. He has been off the court since the Celtics’ March 6 game against the Dallas Mavericks.

While the Celtics also listed Neemias Queta and Derrick White on the injury report, both players received clearance for Friday’s action against the Hawks.

On the other side of the court, the Atlanta Hawks have just one player on the injury report, who is dealing with an actual setback. Jock Landale is questionable for the matchup, as he deals with a right shoulder impingement.

The other three names listed (Rayj Dennis, Keshon Gilbert, and Asa Newell) are all doubtful for G League-related reasons.

Boston is searching for its 49th win on Friday night. They currently have a 1.0-game lead over the third-seeded New York Knicks. The Celtics trail the Detroit Pistons by 4.5 games.

As for the Hawks, they are 41-32 heading into the game. They are on a three-game winning streak and have won nine of their last 10 games.

The Hawks and the Celtics are set for a 7:30 PM ET tip.
