Browns Legend Hints at Team’s Asking Price for Shedeur Sanders
With just two days left before the NFL trade deadline, several high-profile players are hearing their names thrown around in trade discussions.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders is among the names most mentioned in potential deals, and some believe the rookie signal-caller could be flipped before Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET to acquire more wide receiver help for Cleveland.
Some have wondered why Sanders hasn’t been given a chance to start yet with the team’s offense struggling to move the chains and put points on the board.
Fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel has done nothing in his handful of starts to warrant keeping Sanders on the bench much longer, and one Browns legend believes he knows why.

During a recent appearance on “The Top Dawgs Show,” former Browns star Joshua Cribbs, a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro kick returner, revealed that Sanders’ stay on the bench has been deliberate while also divulging what he believes Cleveland is looking for if it were to trade Sanders.
“Shedeur Sanders has too much value at this pick for us not to get him,” Cribbs said. “We can trade him. There’s teams right now that probably want—the Jets—probably want a Shedeur Sanders.
“The rumors I believe are absolutely true, they’ll have to give up a second-rounder for him, and nothing less. If he plays in the terrible offense right now that they’re showing, his value will go down.”

The New York Jets have been a popular rumored landing spot for Sanders given Justin Fields’ struggles (155 yards passing per game) and the speculation star WR Garrett Wilson was a trade target of the Browns.
While it’s highly unlikely Wilson will be dealt, Sanders has been a hot name to watch among teams looking for potential QB help.
The Las Vegas Raiders, New Orleans Saints, and Arizona Cardinals are three other QB-needy teams who’ve been linked to Sanders in recent weeks.
