Browns’ Shedeur Sanders Receives Strong Future Prediction From Former QB
Shedeur Sanders has become one of the top talking points across the NFL since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
To begin the season, Sanders will be the No. 3 quarterback on the Browns’ depth chart. He will start of his career playing behind both Joe Flacco and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.
While that wasn’t his goal, Sanders has been very mature about his situation. After sliding from being a projected first or second round pick to the fifth round, many expected him to be unhappy. His demeanor was everything but unhappy.
So far, Sanders has shown nothing but gratitude and excitement about the opportunity he has been given. He has handled himself well and has been an excellent teammate. His work ethic has already been on full display as well.

During his first NFL preseason, Sanders played solid football. The former Colorado Buffaloes’ standout was able to complete 17 of his 29 preseason passes for 152 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Now, the question becomes, can he still become an NFL starting quarterback down the line? One former quarterback believes he can.
Dan Orlovsky made a very quick and strong statement about his belief in Sanders during an appearance on “The Land on Demand.”
“I still believe that answer is yes,” Orlovsky said.

Some may disagree with that statement while others will wholeheartedly agree. It’s impossible to state as a fact one way or another, but Sanders has shown enough to think that he could work his way onto the field at some point early on.
Whether he gets that chance with Cleveland or another team is a different question.
At this point, the Browns are clearly very high on Gabriel’s future. It’s quite possible that Sanders could need to head elsewhere down the line in order to get his opportunity to become a starter. Or, he could overtake Gabriel in Cleveland.

Only time will tell, but there are enough reasons to be optimistic about Sanders’ future.
Expect to continue hearing a lot about Deion Sanders’ son as the season moves forward. Many fans will be calling for him to receive playing time. Perhaps at some point this year they will get their wish.
