Bucks Have Potential Dark Horse Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Suitor

The rumors surrounding the Milwaukee Bucks and superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo have picked back up.

After a report surfaced that the Bucks had trade discussions with the New York Knicks regarding Antetokounmpo, speculation has been firing on all cylinders. While it has been viewed as a legitimate possibility that the “Greek Freak” could be traded either this season or next offseason, the talk had quieted down.

Now, a lot of potential trade suitors are being talked about. If Milwaukee makes him available, there will be no shortage of interested potential buyers.

Antetokounmpo has been heavily connected to the Knicks, which is to be expected after the report about the two teams discussing a possible trade. However, a dark horse team has emerged as a legitimate option.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks

ESPN insider Bobby Marks has suggested that the Houston Rockets will be a team to monitor closely when it comes to Antetokounmpo.

“The one team that still does is Houston,” Marks said. “They went out and got Kevin Durant, but they still have a lot of draft picks to go out and make a deal. Of course, a player like Amen Thompson would be mentioned if they ever became available.”

While the Bucks are not going to rush to trade Antetokounmpo with the start of the season right around the corner, he could become an option at the trade deadline if the team struggles. Marks noted that fact.

“If they struggle, is there a way for them to improve their roster in the next two months? There isn’t,” Marks said.

Milwaukee will have some tough decisions to make in the near future. Antetokounmpo could also make the talks heat up by requesting a trade if the season doesn’t get off to a good start.

Last season with the Bucks, the 30-year-old superstar played in 67 games. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 0.9 steals per game, while also shooting 60.1 percent from the floor.

Only time will tell whether or not Antetokounmpo does part ways with Milwaukee. Fans should expect to continue hearing a lot of rumors surrounding the situation and even more speculation from the media in the coming weeks and possibly months.
