Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese Named to WNBA All-Rookie Team

The WNBA is releasing all of its honors today, officially announcing every member of the 2024 WNBA All-Rookie Team via social media.

This year, the All-Rookie Team includes guard Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever, forward Rickea Jackson of the Los Angeles Sparks, forward Angel Reese and center Kamilla Cardoso of the Chicago Sky, and forward Leonie Fiebich of the New York Liberty.

The two most prominent names on the list are All-Stars Clark and Reese, who have been fierce and public rivals ever since they began playing against each other in college.

Clark was officially announced as the WNBA Rookie of the Year, and for good reason. This season, she averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds this season.

Additionally, Clark set countless WNBA records, including most points in a season by a rookie (769), most assists in a season (337), most assists in a game (19), most 3-pointers in a season by a rookie (122), most three-pointers in a game by a rookie (7), and most triple-doubles in a season by a rookie (2).

Reese has also had an impactful season, operating as the only other player to receive a first-place vote for Rookie of the Year.

Despite shortening the season due to injury, Reese averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. She set the WNBA record for most rebounds per game and most rebounds in a season by a rookie (446).

The former NCAA champion also set the record for most consecutive double-doubles, scoring a minimum of 10 points and grabbing at least 10 rebounds for 15 games in a row.

While Clark and Reese are garnering the most attention, the other players named to the Rookie Team have also had fantastic debuts into the WNBA.

Jackson was selected by the Sparks with the fourth overall pick in the draft. This season, she averaged 13.4 points, 3.9 total rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

Cardoso was selected by the Sky with the third overall pick in the draft. The two-time NCAA champion averaged 9.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.4 blocks across 32 games.

Finally, Fiebich was selected by the Liberty in the second round of the draft with the 22nd overall pick. In 30 games, she averaged 6.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 0.8 steals.

With such a high caliber of players, there’s no doubt that the WNBA will continue to head in a good direction.
