Cam Ward, Travis Hunter or Shedeur Sanders? Mel Kiper Predicts Who Will Be No. 1 Pick

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. released his first mock draft of the 2025 pre-draft cycle, and he predicts that the Titans will get their quarterback of the future.
Kiper has Tennessee selecting Miami QB Cam Ward, passing on Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders for the top pick.
Hunter goes to the Browns with the second pick and Sanders follows him by being taken the Giants.
Kiper said that the Titans’ decision should come down to Ward or Sanders.
“Ward has the early top-pick buzz around the league, though, so that’s where I’m leaning for now,” Kiper said.
Tennessee experimented with Will Levis after taking him in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft. However, it has not gone as planned. Over two seasons, Levis has completed 61.2% of his passes for 3,724 yards, 20 touchdowns to 16 interceptions.
So the Titans are banking on Ward to be their guy. Ward is coming off a remarkable season for the Hurricanes after transferring from Washington State. He led all FBS passers with 39 passing touchdowns in 2024.
Ward needs to cut down on making risky decisions. Still, he has the desired traits to be a great NFL quarterback. He possesses the arm talent, accuracy to deliver the football to all levels of the field and the ability to win outside of structure.
