While the Super Bowl drew much of the attention this week, it also marked a special moment for legendary NFL quarterback Drew Brees, who was announced as a member of this year’s Pro Football Hall of Fame class.
Brees joins Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, Adam Vinatieri, and senior finalist Roger Craig to represent the Class of 2026 in Canton, Ohio, when they are officially enshrined on Aug. 8.
Following the announcement, Brees sat down with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his older brother, Jason, on their “New Heights” podcast, set to release Wednesday.
The podcast shared a few brief snippets, including a moment where Brees and the Kelce brothers raised a toast for his Hall of Fame bid. Cameras captured Brees delivering a powerful message, saying, “I’ll be welcoming you guys into this club someday.”

Jason has already retired from the NFL and will become eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2029. He has a strong case after a stellar career at center with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he spent 13 seasons, earned seven Pro Bowl selections, six All-Pro honors, and won a Super Bowl.
Travis, meanwhile, is all but a sure thing for induction. He has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, spending his entire career with a single organization like his brother. He has set multiple regular- and postseason receiving records, won three Lombardi Trophies, earned 11 Pro Bowl selections, four All-Pro honors, and was named to the All-2010s Hall of Fame team.
Travis Kelce is currently contemplating retirement after the Chiefs missed the postseason this past year. However, all indications suggest he is leaning toward returning for at least one more season, especially after recently turning 36 in October.
