Cat Ends Up in Awkward Position as His Greed ‘Taken to New Levels’

A hilarious video of a cat conflicted between having treats or cuddles has left internet viewers in stitches after its owner accused the pet of taking “greed to new levels.”

In a post shared on TikTok in August, by @rachelporteous0, the feline is chilling out with its dad, nowhere in sight, until she shakes a bag of treats and changes the game.

As soon as the cat hears the noise, his face can be seen popping out of his dad’s sleeves, just exposed enough to be able to eat the treats, without giving up the warmth and comfort of cuddles.

“When you’re having a cuddle with dad but hear mom move the packet of Dreamies,” reads layover text displayed on the clip. It is followed by a caption that adds: “Greed taken to new levels in our house today.”

As the clip clearly shows, cats love food, and if it was up to them, they would never stop eating. However, as their owner you must ensure your pet doesn’t overeat, as, in the long term, it can cause diseases such as obesity and diabetes.

Catster says that, when they are newborn, kittens should be fed milk, possibly their mother’s, or formula, and only when they are about 4 to 5 weeks old can wet food start being introduced into their diet.

Up until 18 weeks, kittens should not eat more than 0.6 ounces dry or 2.3 ounces wet food, you can then increase the amount of food each month until they reach adulthood.

Adult cats between 1 and 10 years of age should eat no more than 2.1 ounces to 3.7 ounces of dry or 5.6 ounces to 12.8 ounces of wet food per day, possibly spread into two to three feedings.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 210,000 views and more than 48,400 likes on the platform.

One user, need to eat gravel, commented: “Nah cuz what do they put in dreamies to make cats act this way?”

Kelly posted: “Please tell me I wasn’t the only one that thought it was a guinea pig at first.”

RagingUnicornFeathers wrote: “It’s always a tabby, mine is sitting here pretending it’s never a tabby though.”

Yvie added: “The cheese Dreamies were the motivation my cats needed to team up for the task of unscrewing the jar lid when the bags were no longer used to prevent them being torn open. STRONG motivation.”
