Chiefs Announce Bad News Before Facing Texans
The Kansas City Chiefs are entering what should be viewed as a must-win matchup on Sunday Night Football in Week 14 against the Houston Texans.
After losing to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, the Chiefs are in real danger of missing the playoffs. Right now, they hold a 6-6 record and are quickly fading in the AFC playoff picture.
However, with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid leaving the way, Kansas City still has a chance. If the Chiefs can run the table, they’ll give themselves a good chance of getting in. Another loss could doom their playoff hopes before they even begin.

Unfortunately, ahead of this week’s primetime matchup against the Texans, Kansas City announced some bad injury news.

As shared by the team in a post on X, the Chiefs have placed defensive back Chris Roland-Wallace on injured reserve. He suffered a back injury that will force him out of action.
“We have signed Practice Squad player S Mike Edwards to an active roster contract,” Kansas City’s announcement read. “We have activated Practice Squad player G C.J. Hanson via Standard Elevation. We have placed S Christian Roland-Wallace on Reserve/Injured.”
Roland-Wallace has been a key role player for the Chiefs this season in the secondary. He has played in 11 games, racking up 34 total tackles to go along with an interception and three defended passes.
Kansas City will need all hands on deck in order to make a run into the playoffs. Losing a piece like Roland-Wallace will hurt the defensive depth that has made the Chiefs so tough to beat in recent years.
He originally suffered his back injury against the Indianapolis Colts a couple of weeks back. He sat out last week’s loss to the Cowboys.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Kansas City can rally together and make a run down the final stretch of the regular season. The Chiefs have the talent to make some magic happen, but it will be no easy task.
Following their game against Houston, Kansas City will take on the Los Angeles Chargers at home, the Tennessee Titans on the road, the Denver Broncos at home, and the Las Vegas Raiders on the road to close out the year.
