Chiefs Linked to Blockbuster Trade That Could Solidify Super Bowl Hopes
The Kansas City Chiefs entered Week 6 badly needed a statement win on Sunday Night Football against the Detroit Lions. After losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars the week before, Andy Reid and company were sitting at 2-3 with a legitimate chance to drop to 2-4.
Thankfully, the Chiefs were able to protect home field and came through with a dominant win over Dan Campbell and the Lions. When all was said and done, Kansas City ended up winning the game by a final score of 30-17.
While the Chiefs still have not looked quite as dominant as they have looked in years past, there is no question that they’re a contender. Are they a Super Bowl favorite right now? Probably not, but there will be opportunities to improve the roster to get back to being that level of team if they choose to take them.

One potential option has been suggested for Kansas City as the NFL trade deadline continues to draw closer.
Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus took a look at some potential trade candidates before the deadline. He believes that the Chiefs could be a team to watch when it comes to Cincinnati Bengals’ superstar pass rusher Trey Hendrickson.
It seems plausible that the Bengals could look to trade Hendrickson amid their brutal 2-4 start to the season. Joe Burrow is going to miss quite a bit more time as well.
“With Cincinnati staring down a 2-4 record and likely a lost season with no Joe Burrow until at least December, the Bengals very well may go the route of selling at the trade deadline,” Locker wrote. “There’s no asset more valuable than Hendrickson, especially if he’s not in Cincinnati’s long-term plans.”
Hendrickson is one of the best defensive players in the NFL. He has gotten off to a strong start once again with Cincinnati in 2025.
Through the first six games of the season, the 30-year-old pass rusher has racked up 15 total tackles to go along with four sacks, a forced fumble, and a defended pass. Adding those numbers to the Kansas City defense would take the team to the next level.

Depending on the price tag, this is a win-now move the Chiefs should consider. They could also sign him long-term and have him be a cornerstone of the defense for years to come. He’s the kind of piece that could solidify Kansas City as a true Super Bowl contender this season.
Expect to continue hearing rumors and speculation about the Chiefs ahead of the trade deadline. Hendrickson is a name well worth keeping an eye on.
