Super Bowl LIX was expected to be one of the best battles between teams in the history of the event.

What most people didn’t expect was the Philadelphia Eagles absolutely routing the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, getting revenge for when they lost to the Chiefs two years ago.

While there weren’t as many records broken as the first time the Chiefs and Eagles faced off in the Super Bowl, there was still some exciting action that changed NFL history.

Jalen Hurts
Jalen Hurts broke multiple records the last time he was in the Super Bowl, including most rushing yards by a quarterback (70) and tying the record for most rushing touchdowns (3).
In Super Bowl LIX, Hurts outdid himself, rushing for 72 yards, meaning he has beaten himself for the record.

However, this isn’t the only impressive feat from the Super Bowl MVP.
With his excellent play, Hurts became the first quarterback to record 10+ passing touchdowns and 10+ rushing touchdowns in a playoff career.
Additionally, Hurts has joined Joe Montana as the only players with 2+ passing touchdowns, 50+ rushing yards, and at least one rushing touchdown in a Super Bowl.
Hurts was also the first quarterback since John Elway to come back and win a Super Bowl after losing their first Super Bowl.
Saquon Barkley
Running back Saquon Barkley was expected to have a massive game today with many people expecting him to be the X-factor for a Philadelphia victory.

Instead, Barkley proved to be the perfect distraction, only rushing 25 times for 57 yards and six receptions for 40 yards.
That being said, Barkley did break one massive NFL rushing record.
With those 57 yards, Barkley now holds the record for most rushing yards in a total season (regular season and playoffs combined) with 2,504 yards. He has also become the first player ever to rush for over 2,500 yards in a total season.
