Chris Olave’s Brother Calls Out Saints After Quiet First Half vs Chiefs

The New Orleans Saints and the Kansas City Chiefs are facing off on Monday Night Football, and the game has been all Chiefs. At the time of this writing, the Chiefs have secured 16 points, while the Saints have been mostly quiet with just one touchdown.

The Saints have not been able to get much offense going, even though they have receivers like Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, and running back Alvin Kamara. Olave has emerged as a solid option for quarterback Derek Carr, but he has surprisingly not been involved much on Monday night.

This has led to his brother calling out the Saints on social media.

Chris Olave’s brother, Josh Olave, took to X to post a simple two words that has gone viral.

Josh’s post reads, “1 target?”

That simple two-word response speaks volumes, as Chris being targeted only once is quite odd. In fact, Chris was targeted a season-high 10 times in Week 4, bringing in eight catches for 87 yards.

This Chiefs defense is nothing to scoff at and has been causing problems for Carr and the offense. Carr threw a pick in his first series out, and the momentum has swung in a big way toward Kansas City.

Still, the Saints offense will need to figure out a way to get Olave going in the same manner they have with Shaheed. When Olave and Shaheed are lined up with one another, the Saints have one of the best-receiving duos in the league.

It’s understandable that Chris’ brother Josh is questioning the play calling from the Saints, as they often involve Chris early. New Orleans needs to get past their passing woes and get Chris the ball.

The Chiefs are currently undefeated but they are not unbeatable. Every single one of their first four wins has been decided by one score. The Saints are also a good football team. Despite being 2-2 heading into this game, they have playmakers on both sides of the ball.

With multi-threat offensive weapon Taysom Hill out, the Saints offense should be figuring out a way to include all of its playmakers. As it stands right now, Carr is relying on Shaheed.

There is nothing wrong with targeting Shaheed, as he is a stellar receiver. But getting Olave involved more would make things far more difficult for the Chiefs defense to read.

There is plenty more football left to play, and it will be interesting to see what the Saints do in spreading the passes around.
