Comedian’s Take On Joe Rogan Podcast Listeners Goes Viral: ‘Losers’

A comedian has had million of online views after dubbing anyone who listen’s to Joe Rogan’s podcast as a “loser.”

In his latest Netflix special, Bones and All, Anthony Jeselnik also suggested Rogan’s fans were conspiracy theorists.

Rogan hosts The Joe Rogan Experience, the most listened to podcast on Spotify.

“Guys, do not get me wrong, I like Joe, Joe’s my friend, Joe’s a good guy,” Jeselnik said on his Netflix standup show.

“But if you listen to his podcast, you’re a f***** loser.”

The comedian cited his “crazy conspiracy theorist” brother-in-law as an example of one Rogan’s “target demographic” and described him as someone who “doesn’t think four hours is long enough” for a podcast episode.

A clip of Jeselnik’s comments was posted to X, formerly Twitter, by Columbia University professor Marlow Stone, where it went viral with almost eight million views at the time of writing.

Newsweek contacted Rogan’s representatives by email for comment.

People were divided about Jeselnik’s comments and shared their thoughts in the replies on Stone’s post.

“Punchline sells it if you listen lol,” wrote @gansekyle.

“Awww, poor s***lib is absolutely furious that young people don’t listen to leftist comedians or podcasts. Sorry dude, the left isn’t cool anymore, and you insulting people and calling them stupid is just making the left even *more* uncool,” commented @raquelwelchh.

“Actually great joke cmon think it through 🤣,” added @HardKreiger.

According to reporter, Kathryn VanArendonk, who profiled the comedian for Vulture, Jeselnik told her he would now take out the part of his routine describing Rogan as a good guy.

“He told me if he were taping this special now he’d leave out the part about how he likes Rogan and thinks he’s a good guy,” VanArendonk wrote on X.

Jeselnik was a writer on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and previously spoke about how some of his jokes were knocked back on the show because they were deemed too dark.

More recently on his own podcast, The Jeselnik & Rosenthal Vanity Project, he spoke about Rogan’s influence and discussed whether a “liberal Joe Rogan” would work.

“Conservatives have what works for them and a lot of that is conspiracy theory and ‘We’re ultra-masculine.’ Joe Rogan doesn’t work without MMA. It used to be, like, he was the weed guy — now, he’s the weed guy and the MMA guy, and he’s perfectly suited to this role of the conservative Joe Rogan,” he said in an interview with Cracked.

“A liberal Joe Rogan is just a p****. I have people come to my shows and they say, as a progressive, ‘I hate progressive comedy because it’s so lame, and that when I’m watching your show, I know you’re progressive, and I know I’m in good hands, that I can laugh and enjoy it.’ I don’t know what a liberal Joe Rogan would look like, but it sounds like s***. It sounds like a children’s drawing of God—it has no bearing on reality,” he added.
