‘Connections’ February 24: Hints and Answers for Puzzle #624
Finding Monday’s Connections puzzle challenging? Look no further.
Newsweek has assembled a set of useful hints to help you navigate Monday’s puzzle, all without revealing too many details.
Connections has attracted a huge fanbase since its debut in The New York Times in June 2023, now ranking just below Wordle in popularity. The puzzle challenges players to categorize words based on subtle connections, demanding both logical thinking and strong language skills.

How To Play Connections
Connections challenges players to divide 16 words into four distinct categories based on their relationships. Each category is color-coded by difficulty, with yellow being the easiest and green, blue, and purple indicating increasing levels of challenge.
The puzzles often feature homophones, wordplay, and other witty elements, making them far from simple.
If players find themselves stuck, they can press the shuffle button to rearrange the words on the screen.
Wyna Liu, crossword editor at the NYT who was tasked to develop Connections, recently offered tips for tackling the game in an interview with Newsweek.
“My top advice is to hold off on guessing as long as you can,” Liu said. “You might spot a clear category and think you see five words that fit, but don’t try guessing the four until you’re sure which one doesn’t belong. Jumping in too soon can cost you a turn.”
Liu also cautioned against what she refers to as “rage solving,” a tactic she admitted to occasionally resorting to.
