Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Can Break Major Tony Romo Franchise Record vs Eagles
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott took over Tony Romo’s job nine years ago and hasn’t looked back.
Now, he has the opportunity to surpass him in the franchise record books in a crucial NFC East matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
According to team reporter Kyle Youmans, Prescott needs just 160 passing yards to become the Cowboys’ all-time leading passer. Romo currently holds the record with 34,183 yards, while Prescott currently sits 34,024 yards.
One small obstacle stands in Prescott’s way: the Eagles have one of the. best pass defenses in the NFL.
The Eagles defense holds its opponents to only 20.1 points per game, Opponents are 53 of 131 on third down conversion and 6 of 18 on fourth downs, including five fourth-down stops against the Detroit Lions.
In the season opener, where the Eagles hosted the Cowboys, the defense held Prescott and Co. to only 188 passing yards – meaning Prescott will have to work hard for the record.

That’s not to say it’s impossible.
Philadelphia’s defense has been exposed a few times with the departures cornerback Darius Slay, defensive tackle Milton Williams, and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson in the offseason.
Prescott will make his 15th start against the Eagles on Sunday.
“When you’ve played in this game long enough and you can stay healthy, with my expectations of what my play is, that’s supposed to happen. So just thankful, humbled, super grateful to be playing a game I love at this high of a level.” Prescott said.
“We’ve got playmakers out there that make my job easier, just get them the ball, watch these guys run, but it’s all 11 of us. Whoever’s out there, the guys that come in, it’s the people that are making it fun too. Just a lot of unselfishness out there.”
BetMGM currently has Prescott hitting over 250 yards at (-115 odds).
