Cowboys News: Jerry Jones’ Family Involved in Car Accident Before 49ers Game
The Dallas Cowboys are taking on the San Francisco 49ers in an important showdown for Sunday Night Football. While Jerry Jones was ready to see his team take on the 49ers, he experienced a scary situation regarding his family that were also heading to the game.
According to The Athletic’s Todd Archer, the second vehicle that was carrying Charlotte Jones, Jerry Jones Jr., and Shy Anderson Jr. was struck by a rising barricade right outside Levi’s Stadium. Charlotte and Jerry Jr. had to be checked out by the team’s medical staff and were able to still attend the game.
Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the accident, but it does not make the incident any less frightening. Jerry and Stephen Jones were in the other car at the time of the accident.
This is the second incident involving a car accident and figures in the NFL in the last two weeks. A mere five days ago, Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton and his family were also involved in an accident.
Dalton was in the vehicle with his wife, three children, and dog. No one in that particular accident needed to be transported to the hospital. Dalton did experience an injury related to the accident, which was a right thumb injury.
Dalton’s injury led to him not practicing all week and being held out of Sunday’s game. Bryce Young suited up again in his stead, throwing 224 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Panthers’ 28-14 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Both incidents were scary, but it appears that both families walked away from the accidents virtually unscathed. This is good news considering how some car accidents can be very serious in nature.
The Cowboys are on the road tonight, taking on the 49ers at the stadium in Santa Clara, California. Both teams are looking for a big win to stay alive in their respective divisions.
San Francisco is currently 3-4 on the season and is one win away from tying both the Seattle Seahawks and first-place Arizona Cardinals with a 4-4 record. The Cowboys would move to 4-3 on the season with a win, and still be behind the first-place Washington Commanders at 6-2 and the Philadelphia Eagles in second with a 5-2 record.
Dallas has a tough road ahead based on how competitive the Eagles and Commanders have been thus far. They will need to beat the 49ers to keep up in the NFC East.
