Delta Pilot Arrested on Child Sex Assault Charge Identified

A Delta pilot arrested on suspicion of sexual crimes against a minor has been named as Rustom Bhagwagar.
Bhagwagar, a 34-year-old Florida resident was arrested on Saturday after he landed a plane travelling from Minneapolis at San Francisco International Airport.
Following his arrest by Contra Costa County sheriff deputies and Department of Homeland Security agents, Bhagwagar was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility, charged with five counts of oral copulation with a child under 10. His bail is $5 million.
In a statement posted to Facebook, the sheriff department said the arrest came as a result of an investigation that started in April 2025.

A passenger told View from the Wing that investigators “stormed to the front” of the plane to arrest the pilot.
A Delta Air Lines spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times that it had “zero tolerance” for the alleged crime and that it would cooperate with authorities.
The sheriff department said “the investigation is ongoing.
