Dodgers Manager Sends Message to Brewers After NLCS Loss
The Los Angeles Dodgers swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series, completing the four-game feat Friday night at Dodger Stadium.

Manager Dave Roberts had a message for the Brewers following the Dodgers’ Game 4 win over Milwaukee.
“I just want to congratulate Murph and the Brewers on a great year,” Roberts said. “They were beat up but they had a tremendous season, tremendous organization — and just really wanted to congratulate those guys.”
The Brewers boasted the best record in baseball, which makes the Dodgers’ dominance over the NL powerhouse that much more impressive.
Game 4 of the NLCS largely centered around Shohei Ohtani, who served as the Dodgers starter and designated hitter. The Dodgers two-way star made history in the first inning of the matchup, becoming the first pitcher in MLB history to hit a leadoff home run in either the regular season or postseason.
Ohtani the pitcher tossed six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts. Ohtani the hitter blasted three homers to help the Dodgers secure their ticket to the World Series.
The defending champions have only lost one game in the postseason thus far, a Game 3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS.

Beyond that one loss, the Dodgers have continued to cruise through October.
The NLCS matchup was somewhat of a reunion for Roberts and Brewers manager Pat Murphy, who previously worked together on the San Diego Padres coaching staff in 2015.
Roberts was the Friars’ bench coach, but served as the Padres interim manager for a single game after Bud Black was fired in June. The Padres then promoted Murphy from his role as the team’s Triple-A manager to take over as the interim manager for the remainder of the 2015 season.
The pair both went on to manage their own National League teams, and have been extremely successful in their respective endeavors.
However, it’s Roberts’ squad who will advance to the 2025 World Series. Game 1 of the Fall Classic between the Dodgers and either the Seattle Mariners or Toronto Blue Jays begins Friday, Oct. 24.
