Dogs Shown Their New Backyard, Their Reaction Doesn’t Disappoint
A couple from Utah bought a new house with a huge backyard for their pups to explore, and their wholesome reaction has melted the hearts of internet users.
In a viral TikTok video shared in September by @thestadlerfam, the couple can be seen letting their two Chihuahuas into the new backyard for the first time, playing fetch with them as they run around nonstop, enjoying their new favorite spot.
“When we bought our home, I knew I wanted to create a beautiful space for the dogs to explore,” the poster, Serena Stadler, told Newsweek.
“We’ve already added a fence, poured concrete, installed a gazebo, and laid turf for them to enjoy. Next summer, we’re planning to add trees, flowers, and even a garden. Madi loves sunbathing, while Remi is obsessed with chasing grasshoppers and bugs,” Stadler added.
All pups need exercise every day, and having a huge garden available surely makes this task easier for dog owners. Exercise keeps dogs healthy, entertained and stimulated, and avoids destructive behaviors and zoomies.
An article shared by The Dog Clinic, medically fact-checked by Dr. Linda Simon, says that the amount of exercise a dog needs, depends on a few factors, including their breed, size, and age.
Toy breeds need between 30 and 45 minutes of exercise each day, while small breeds need up to 60 minutes, medium breeds 60 to 80 minutes, and large breeds up to two hours.
While a walk around the block is always a great choice, some of their daily exercise can easily be done in the yard.
According to an article shared by Your Dog Advisor, written by Jen Jones, a professional dog trainer and behavior specialist with more than 25 years of experience, there are a number of different games you can play with your pup in the yard.
These include fetch, Frisbee, hide-and-seek, and pet-friendly bubble chasing. When it’s hot outside, you can also let them play in a dog pool or with a slow-streaming hose pipe to keep fresh.
“I’m so happy we have such a big area for them to roam, and I can’t wait to add another dog in the future to enjoy it, too,” Stadler said.
The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 1.5 million views and more than 192,200 likes on the platform.
One user, Winsolace, commented: “Their backyard is bigger than my house lol.”
Wally wrote: “Soccer field here would be insane.”
Mojo67!!!!! added: “My gawd the little black pup [playing] fetch is adorable !!! It is amazing. Very gratifying. I bought 5 acres for my dogs, cried when I saw them rip around the first time.”
