Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Says He is ‘Opening Door’ On Leaving Miami
The Miami Dolphins ended their season on a loss to the New York Jets, falling to 8-9 on the season, and securing a losing record for the first time since 2019. The Dolphins simply did not look like their 2023 selves, and that was evident in their final game.

One of the biggest shocks of the season is that star wide receiver Tyreek Hill did not reach 1,000 yards receiving for the first time since the 2020 season. A big reason could have been due to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who missed a total of six games.
Hill spoke to the media following the loss, offering cryptic responses about the future of his playing for the Dolphins. He also alluded to head coach Mike McDaniel pulling him out of the game.
Hill was asked about the wrist injury that has been known for the season. However, things got a bit weird when he stated, “Coach pulled me out.”
Further inquiries by reporters indicated that Hill was pulled from the game by McDaniel due to the Kansas City Chiefs being blown out by the Denver Broncos.
“Just one of those issues, man. You look up at the scoreboard and the Chiefs are down.,” Hill stated.

Hill seemed to push aside the fact that he did not reach 1,000 yards on the season but immediately went into his “assessing” his future as a player.
“There is a lot of things I need to reassess about my career. See what I need to do to continue to get better as a player, so I can continue to reach that 1,000-yard mark.”
Hill speaks on the Dolphins having a losing season, especially as a captain. He also revealed losing Tagovailoa “sucks.”
Following this, Hill drops the biggest hint and bombshell that he wants out of Miami.
“For me, l gotta do what is best for me and my family. If that is here, or wherever the case may be. I am going to open that door for me. I am opening that door. I’m out. It was great playing here, but I gotta do what is best for my career.”
Hill simply ended the interview on a cliffhanger when he was asked if he wanted to leave the Dolphins. However, based on his comments, it sounds like the star receiver does not want to remain with Miami for another season.
Losing Hill will be detrimental to the Dolphins’ offensive plans in 2025. He is one of the best receivers in the game, and it’s understandable that he is this frustrated. The team went to the playoffs in 2022 and 2023, only to have an early exit in the Wildcard Round.

Now, the Dolphins have missed the playoffs and did not finish with a positive record. To Hill’s credit, he is an all-star receiver who is likely even more frustrated being on a team that cannot get past the first round of the playoffs.
For now, the Dolphins will have some big decisions to make in the offseason. One of the biggest could be if the team plans to move on from general manager Chris Grier. The other will be if the team will allow Hill to seek a trade.
