Donald Trump Says Ilhan Omar Should ‘Get On A Boat’ After SOTU Clash
President Donald Trump has said Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib “should get on a boat” after clashing with them during his State of the Union address.
In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, the president said the Democratic congresswomen should be sent back to “where they came” from. Both are U.S. citizens.
Omar and Tlaib had shouted criticism when Trump touted his administration’s immigration enforcement during his address on Tuesday evening. “You have killed Americans,” Omar said during Trump’s speech.
Democrats have attacked Trump’s comments, with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries calling them “xenophobic” and “disgraceful.” Tlaib wrote on X that Trump cannot “take two Muslims talking back and correcting him so now he is crashing out.”
In an appearance on CNN, Omar said she had no regrets about the exchange, adding: “It was important for me to just remind the American people that the president and his administration was responsible for killing two American citizens.”
Two U.S. citizens—Renee Good and Alex Pretti—were fatally shot by federal agents during the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in Minneapolis in January.
Newsweek contacted the White House, Omar and Tlaib for comment via email outside regular business hours.

This is a developing story. More to follow.
