Eagles’ Saquon Barkley Had Perfect Two-Word Response Right Before Game-Winning Touchdown
As the story has been all season, the Philadelphia Eagles advanced to the NFC Championship on the back of Saquon Barkley’s magnificence carrying the football on Sunday.
Barkley racked up 232 total yards and a pair of scores in the Eagles’ 28-22 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
Before Barkley ripped off his fourth-quarter touchdown to ultimately seal the win, footage reveals he spoke two words for quarterback Jalen Hurts.
“Watch this,” Barkley appears to say before proceeding to trot for 78 yards through the frosty conditions and boost the Eagles to a 28-15 lead.
Barkley, who rushed for a franchise-record 255 yards in Week 12 against the Rams in Los Angeles, broke the Eagles’ single-game playoff rushing record with 205.
The previous playoff record, set by Eagles legend Steve Van Buren with 196 yards in the 1949 NFL Championship (also against the Rams), was surpassed by Barkley, who remains focused on what mattered most on Sunday.

“It was the same message as last week – the most important thing is winning football games, especially around this time of year,” Barkley said.
“Whatever it takes. Defense, our defense is special. Making plays for us. Of course, we’re going to go back and watch and see what we can do better on offense. Our offensive line did a great job for us, we made the plays and got a win.”

Barkley, who averaged an outstanding 7.9 yards per carry, mirrored his dominant performance from the first meeting against the Rams. He opened with a 68-yard touchdown late in the first quarter, giving the Eagles a 13-7 lead.
“I just want to make good plays for the team,” Barkley said. “Before that, I just kept telling myself just locking in, being focused, and the O-line did a really good job.”
The Philadelphia offense rushed for 285 total yards and by the second half, the field was fully blanketed in snow, making it difficult for both teams to execute their game plans, especially through the air.
Hurts only threw for 128 yards while Matthew Stafford reached 324, so it’s evident that the Eagles’ run game will be a force to be reckoned with for the Washington Commanders in the next round.
“Our O-line wanted 300 and we only got 285, so we got to do a better job next week for those guys,” Barkley said. “It starts up front. It starts up with those guys and then when you have a quarterback who can take it 50 yards to the house, that opens up stuff for you, too.”
