Exact Moment Golden Retriever Puppy ‘Chose’ New Family Goes Viral

Finding the perfect dog to fit your daily needs and preferences can take time, and it can especially be difficult for those wanting a puppy, as they’re still growing into their personalities. But one family’s decision came relatively easily, thanks to the tiny pup.

In last week’s TikTok video posted to the account @rebasgoldenlife, a family went to look at the available puppies with the hopes of bringing one home. The litter huddled together, sleeping on top of each other. They had no idea future families were checking them out except for one pup.

That specific golden retriever puppy must’ve had a feeling about the people who came inside because she separated herself from the rest of the pack. She sat and stared in the playpen, hopeful these would be her people. At that exact moment, the family knew which puppy they would bring home.

The tiny fur baby made it easy for them. Instead of the family deciding which one to take home, the pup “chose” them and, as the caption reads, that pup has been their girl since day one.

The TikTok video amassed over 786,300 views, 186,600 likes and 302 comments as of Tuesday. Viewers immediately became obsessed with the pup’s precious look as if she were begging to be picked.

“She said: ‘Your my mom now,'” commented one user.

Another wrote what the pup was thinking: “You WILL adopt me.”

A third person said: “It’s even more special when they pick u.”

Finding Your Right Dog Breed

Those deciding to add a new furry friend to the family might feel overwhelmed, as there are hundreds of dog breeds and rescues from which to choose. It’s important to ask yourself several questions to find the perfect dog to fit your lifestyle.

An article from the American Kennel Club listed questions about a person’s lifestyle and expectations, which will help narrow the selection of dogs. These include your activity level, whether you have children, the amount of time you’re away from home, and your availability to socialize, train and groom. Future pet parents should also consider the size of the dog they want.

Another question people should consider is whether they want a purebred dog or a rescue. Selecting a purebred from a responsible breeder will give owners more predictability in temperament, size and grooming needs, the article said. Those interested in rescuing can spend time with dogs in the shelter or foster to get a better sense of their personalities.
