‘Excited’ Kylie Kelce Reveals Empowering New Project

In addition to being a loving mom of (almost) four girls, coaching girls’ field hockey, and having her own podcast, Kylie Kelce is finding more ways to help women and girls build confidence in sports. The 32-year-old wife of retired center Jason Kelce revealed an “exciting” project on Instagram on Tuesday, February 18.
“So excited to share this with you all: @Dove and @SportsIllustrated have partnered to release the first-ever Sports reIllustrated, a special edition celebrating young female athletes breaking barriers to compete on their own terms,” she wrote in the caption. “The collection of stories aims to demonstrate that athleticism comes in all shapes, sizes and abilities, and inspire girls everywhere to keep playing the sports they love. Your Dove purchase helps support girls in sports.” The cover image featured 10-year-old wrestler, Honor Smoke, who is the youngest person to be on the cover of a Sports Illustrated special edition.

Fans of Kylie commented their support of the initiative.
“Where can I get a copy? I would love to put this on my bookshelf in my classroom!!” asked one fan, apparently a teacher. “this is kind of visbility and representation is so important. Thank you for your continued advocacy ❤️,” wrote another enthusiastic commenter.
Another noted, ” I love this so much as a someone who was made fun of sometimes for playing all the sports including the only girl on a flag football team.”
Several commenters cheered on the young wrestler herself, with one writing, “Local Akron NY gal! The wrestling community is strong in these parts!!” Another shared her enthusiasm for young girls playing the sport, writing, “this is great! My 5 yr old granddaughter started wrestling a year ago! She loves it!”
Women’s sports have been rising in popularity over the past several years, and many brands have noted it in their marketing efforts. Nike’s Super Bowl ad, entitled “So Win,” featured nine record-setting female athletes.
