FBI on Scene After American Airlines Flight Diverted to Detroit

The FBI is at a Detroit airport after American Airlines flight 2819 was diverted Sunday, authorities confirmed to Newsweek.
“Wayne County Airport Authority Police responded to a reported disturbance aboard a diverted American Airlines flight.The FBI is present on the scene, ” Matt Morawski, Metro Airport Communications Director told Newsweek in an email.
The flight was traveling from New York to Chicago when it was diverted, according to the flight data.
More information on the nature of the disturbance was not immediately available.
Newsweek has reached out to the FBI and American Airlines by email Sunday for more information.
