Former NFL Quarterback Throws Weight Behind Cam Ward For Titans With Top Pick

The Titans will have a big decision to make now that they officially possess the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Tennessee could go in a few different directions, but former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel believes they should land on Miami QB Cam Ward.
In Daniel’s initial tweet, he was intrigued by the idea of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or Ward in Titans head coach Brian Callahan’s offensive system, but he zeroed in on Ward in his quote tweet.
Tennessee experimented with Will Levis after taking him in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft. However, it did not turn out as expected. Over two seasons, Levis has completed 61.2% of his passes for 3,724 yards with 20 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
Those numbers don’t scream franchise quarterback, so the Titans must find their guy this offseason. That player could be Ward, who is coming off a remarkable season for the Hurricanes after deciding to transfer from Washington State. He led all FBS passers with 39 passing touchdowns in 2024.
Ward needs to cut down on making risky decisions, but he has the desired traits to be a good NFL quarterback, possessing the arm talent, mobility, and accuracy to deliver the football at all levels of the field.
The Titans could also use their top selection on Sanders, Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, Penn State edge defender Abdul Carter, or even in a trade down to acquire more picks.
