Former PGA Tour Pro Joins Sub-60 Club on Korn Ferry Tour

Breaking 60 in professional golf is one of the rarest feats in the sport. On the Korn Ferry Tour, where scoring is already low, it’s even more elusive.
Before this week, only 13 players had ever done it! The last one to add his name to the list was Cristobal Del Solar back in 2024 during the Astara Golf Championship.
He was followed by Aldrich Potgieter, who shot a 59 the very next day at the same event.
Now, two years later, the list has grown again! This time, all credit goes to former PGA Tour pro Adrien Dumont de Chassart.

On Thursday, the 25-year-old Belgian carded an 11-under-par 59 in the opening round of the Kansas Wichita Open.
His stunning round of 12 birdies and a single bogey, eventually marked as the 14th sub-60 score in Korn Ferry Tour history.
“Played really well down the stretch,” Dumont de Chassart said afterward.
“I missed a short putt on 7, but that’s what makes golf great—you feel nerves even on a four-footer. I was happy to bounce back strong on 8 with that 6-iron shot,” he added.
Starting on the back nine, Chassart birdied his first three holes, added another at 14, dropped a shot at 15, then bounced back with birdies at 16 and 17 to make the turn at 5-under.
He caught fire on the front nine, reeling off five straight birdies from holes 1 through 5.
After missing a short putt on 7, he stuck a 6-iron tight on the par-3 8th to set up his final birdie.
“That’s what’s cool about golf, you feel nervous even on 4-footers, right?,” he said. “So I’m glad I bounced back and hit a really, really good 6-iron on 17, hole 8, to set up an easy birdie.”
The round gave him a four-shot lead over five players and a shot at redemption.
Last year, Dumont de Chassart lost in a three-man playoff at this same event.
A former University of Illinois standout, he earned his PGA Tour card in 2023 but lost it after making just 12 cuts in 27 starts.
Now back on the Korn Ferry Tour, he entered the week ranked 33rd in points and is eyeing a return to the big stage.
