Former WWE Star Tommaso Ciampa Makes AEW Debut
Tommaso Ciampa has officially arrived in All Elite Wrestling, making a shocking debut on tonight’s episode of “Dynamite.” The “Blackheart” wasted no time making his presence felt, immediately inserting himself into the title picture just days after his WWE exit.
The debut comes on the heels of reports earlier this month stating that Ciampa’s WWE contract was set to expire. After opting not to renew his deal, it was confirmed that the veteran competitor would be leaving the Stamford-based promotion.
The WWE Departure
Speculation about Ciampa’s future reached a fever pitch last night when he was officially removed from the active WWE roster page. This digital update served as the final confirmation of his departure, signaling that he was free to negotiate with other companies.
Unlike many releases that come with a non-compete clause, contract expirations often allow talent to appear elsewhere immediately. It hasn’t taken him very long to find a new home, as he walked onto the AEW stage less than 24 hours after his profile was scrubbed.

The Open Challenge
The stage was set during a segment involving current TNT Champion Mark Briscoe. Briscoe had just made a successful defense of his title against El Clon in a hard-hitting bout that showcased his resilience.
Following the match, the champion grabbed the microphone to issue an open challenge for this Saturday’s episode of “AEW Collision.” However, Briscoe included a specific caveat for potential challengers to keep the odds fair.
He stipulated that the challenger could not be a member of the Don Callis Family. This restriction was intended to prevent outside interference, but it inadvertently opened the door for a much more dangerous free agent.

The Blackheart Arrives
Moments after the challenge was laid out, the arena lights suddenly went black, silencing the crowd. When they came back up, Tommaso Ciampa was standing in the ring, staring down the TNT Champion.
The crowd erupted as the former NXT Champion made his intentions clear without saying a word. Ciampa accepted Briscoe’s challenge, setting the stage for a blockbuster match on this week’s “Collision” show in Arlington, Texas.
