Fortnite Drops Trailer For Wild New Topgolf Collaboration UEFN Map

“Fortnite” is continuing to expand into a new market, as the famed battle royale is getting into the Topgolf game with a brand new map and a slew of mini-games. The new map features a collaboration with the popular golf driving range that has captivated fans in the United States.

Depending on the location, Topgolf offers such games as “Topgolf,” which is the standard game that challenges players to hit targets and rack up bonus multipliers, “Quick 90” which challenges players to hit their ball as close to colored targets on the range, and “Topdrive,” which challenges players to see who can hit the ball the farthest on the range.

Despite “Fortnite” and Topgolf collaborating, the games offered on the video game are a bit different than what is offered at the driving ranges across the country.

Per the above trailer, “Fortnite” players will get to race one another in golf carts per the “Topgolf Speedway” mini-game, “Whack-a-ball,” which is a riff on “Whack-a-Mole,” and “Topgolf World Tour” that will bring in recreations of the Santa Monica, Bangkok, Dubai, and Las Vegas locations.

“Fortnite” is continuing to expand on its creative market by allowing “creators” to use the UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite) engine to create brand-new ways in which the battle royale can be evolved.

According to a release from the “Fortnite” site on the UEFN, “Unreal Editor for Fortnite (‘UEFN’) is an Epic creation tool that enables Content creators (in each case, a ‘Creator’) to create, develop, modify, or contribute user-generated content in Fortnite (‘UEFN Content’) and to upload, publish, or otherwise make available UEFN Content to some or all users of the Services (as that term is defined in the Fortnite End User License Agreement (the ‘Fortnite EULA’)).”

The collaboration between “Fortnite” and Topgolf was made possible by Zoned (an agency under the GameSquare Holdings banner) in a deal with Topgolf. Moonlight Studios, is a subsidiary of Zoned and built the map for Zoned.

According to Zoned President Carlos Tovar via Sports Business Journal, “We’ve been working behind the scenes with gamers and gaming companies for a few years now, and this was a culmination of relationship-building and trust that our friends at Zoned could authentically bring our brand into the Fortnite world and create something truly special,” said Topgolf Chief Brand Officer Geoff Cottrill. He also said that Topgolf has ‘no plans at the moment’ to integrate the Fortnite map into its venues. For now, no other brands besides Topgolf are part of this map — no branded clubs, balls or other gear is part of this.”

Time will tell if Topgolf plans to integrate some sort of “Fortnite” modes into the multiple worldwide locations, but fans can at least get a small taste of Topgolf within their favorite battle royale.

“Fortnite” is available on macOS, Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Android, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
