Friend Asks Bride About Single Men at Wedding—No One Prepared for Response

A casual text asking a bride-to-be about single men at her wedding has taken an unexpectedly detailed turn.

In a TikTok video, a woman revealed the “full blown Powerpoint” her bride friend had made her on the eligible men attending, meticulously compiled by the groom-to-be. The creator’s video has gone viral, receiving over over 215,000 views and sparking discussion about modern dating strategies at weddings.

In the video, the creator explained the situation leading up to her friend’s wedding back in March: “A couple weeks before, I texted the bride and I was like, ‘Hey, any single men attending this wedding that I should be looking out for?'” she said.

The bride’s enthusiastic reply promised intel. “‘Yes, my fiance is compiling a list,'” she said.

What arrived 24 hours later was far more comprehensive than the woman anticipated. From the bride, she received a PowerPoint presentation of all the single men attending, including where they live, their hometowns, the schools they attended, their profession and even what sports they played in high school.

“I’m not sure I needed all of that information,” the creator added. And, naturally, the presentation included visuals.

Despite the data overload, she found the pre-wedding information useful.

“It was really helpful to determine who I should be looking out for at this wedding,” she said in the video. “I don’t wanna waste my time talking to some man who lives in Chicago. What a waste of a night. I need to be focusing on the New York men. And this let me cut right to the chase. I knew exactly who I was looking for.”

Still, the preparation didn’t quite leave her successful. She confessed the wedding hunt for a date didn’t turn out that well, and, what’s worse, the men found out about their involvement in the PowerPoint.

“I’m not sure they were too pleased about it,” she concluded. Still, she appreciated the effort: “Ask your friends, ask their fiancés. They might be more than happy to make a PowerPoint.”

What Did the Comments Say?

The video sparked a wave of comments, with many viewers finding the fiancé’s presentation both hilarious and brilliant.

Some shared their own experiences validating the usefulness of pre-wedding intel.

“At my sister’s wedding, one of the groomsmen was hitting on me, but I already knew the lore about him cheating on his girlfriend who he was still with,” one person wrote. “So, I guess what I’m saying is, it pays to have the info.”

Many embraced the idea wholeheartedly.

“Normalize this being the couple’s gift to their single friends going to all those weddings,” suggested one commenter. Another shared their own intended approach: “I’m my best friend’s maid of honor and fully plan to introduce myself as very single in my speech, inviting the men to find me later.”

Whether seen as an overly enthusiastic gesture, a strategic tool or a sort of invasive compilation, the fiancé’s PowerPoint certainly made an impression online.
