Gen Z Man’s Revenge for Badly Parked Truck Praised: ‘Deserves To Learn’
One man’s response to a frustrating parking job has been cheered, after the 21-year-old shared online what he did to a truck driver.
Charles, who didn’t give a surname, lives in Florida and arrived at a car park to find a blue truck effectively taking up two spaces.
In response, the Gen Zer shared how he parked his car next to it, making it impossible for the truck to open their door when they returned, while still being within the designated lines of the parking spot.
“I (white car) parked here on purpose because blue truck deserves to learn,” he shared on Reddit’s r/badparking subreddit, where it has over 20,000 upvotes since being posted earlier this month.
“I think they learned because my car wasn’t dinged up like so many of the comments were worried about,” Charles told Newsweek. “They most likely figured out that it’s something they did wrong and hopefully will pay more attention in the future. HOW could you park so poorly that someone parking well within the lines disables your driver side door?”

While it’s not clear which county this took place in, the Orange County government website has tips for drivers when parking to avoid being towed.
Unsurprisingly, on the list is: “Make sure you park within the designated parking lines.”
The post was intended as a lighthearted share, something Charles thought “a few hundred people” might enjoy. Instead, it became the top post of all time on the subreddit, sparking widespread discussion. “I posted it but never expected to be #1 all time on the sub, and get millions of impressions on it,” he said.
“I’m glad so many others were able to smile because of a silly little moment me and a dodge owner shared, it is a little weird that I had more interaction with so many strangers over the internet about this situation then I had with the driver of the truck.”
As the post gained more attention, people were quick to offer opinions in the comments.
“For the sake of my own car. I never park next to someone who doesn’t know how to pull in. Chances are they don’t know how to pull out either,” said Redditor Jeimuz.
While DancingBear62 said: “I’ve done this (role of the white car), and had the bad parker vandalize my car.”
“I respect what you did. Be careful, you can’t really teach other drivers—they tend to retaliate,” said Weary-Writer758.
“Did you happen to catch the guy coming out and seeing this? I’d pay money to witness,” said Isthisnamefreeeee.
This isn’t the first time a parking dispute has gained viral attention online. In 2023, a woman found an “aggressive” printed card about her parking when she returned to her car. While earlier this year an “entitled” neighbor was slammed for blocking in a car repeatedly.
