Georgia Suffers Huge Transfer Portal Blow Ahead of SEC Championship Game
The Georgia Bulldogs ended the regular season on a high note, edging the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 16-9 in their annual “Clean, Old-fashioned Hate” rivalry game.
No. 4 Georgia finished with an 11-1 record — its lone loss came against No. 10 Alabama back in September — and the Bulldogs will get a chance to exact some revenge on the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 6.
And while the Bulldogs have had plenty to celebrate since their victory over Georgia Tech, they were hit with some pretty brutal news on Sunday that likely put a damper on things.

“BREAKING: Georgia CB Daniel Harris plans to enter the @TransferPortal, he tells
@On3Sports,” On3’s Hayes Fawcett wrote on X. “The 6’3 195 CB totaled 30 Tackles, & 3 PD in his time with the Bulldogs. He appeared in 20+ games (started 12) and will have 1 year of eligibility left.”

Harris, a junior cornerback, played in just three games this season, logging seven tackles while allowing six catches no nine targets for 154 yards and two touchdowns while playing 81 coverage snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
Harris was a four-star recruit and the No. 158 player nationally and No. 32 CB in the class of 2023, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He’ll likely be one of the more sought-after cornerbacks in the transfer portal.
Oregon’s Dakota Fields and LSU’s Ashton Stamps—both three-star CBs—are the two highest-ranked players at their position in the transfer portal currently, according to On3’s transfer portal rankings.
