Giannis Antetokounmpo Injury Timeline Sparks Support From Fans
Giannis Antetokounmpo has a new injury to worry about.
According to The Athletic’s Eric Nehm, the veteran forward is dealing with a calf strain. While he has to undergo an MRI still on Saturday, Giannis didn’t sugarcoat his status. The veteran revealed he expects to miss four-to-six weeks of action.
During the Bucks’ Friday night matchup against the Denver Nuggets, Antetokounmpo was spotted leaving the game twice. He still managed to finish with 32 minutes played.
With Giannis getting his recovery timeline so quickly, and considering how much action he’ll miss going forward, the news was met with shock on Friday night.
“I’ll see you in a Warriors uniform,” @oldnbatweetz writes on X.
“4-6 weeks to look for a new team,” @Killa11211 added.
Throughout the entire 2025-2026 NBA season, Giannis has been viewed as a potential flight risk out of Milwaukee. The Bucks cut ties with the injured Damian Lillard, which frustrated the former MVP.

While the Bucks have made some important moves over the past year, Giannis has not seen them build a roster that is ready to compete for a championship, which is what he desires at this point in his career. As Antetokounmpo faced multiple weeks out, some seem to believe he could be on his way out.

“Get well Giannis!,” @LineStarApp wrote on X.
“Rest up Giannis don’t wanna risk an Achilles injury,” @wagerkingz_ said.
While Giannis’ injury could shake up the trade market, fans also wanted to voice their support for the big man. Despite the Bucks’ recent struggles as a team, Giannis remains one of the most electrifying players in the sport.
Unfortunately, it’s been a difficult season for Antetokounmpo in more ways than one. Along with the trade drama, Giannis battled a setback earlier this season. He missed a four-game stretch back in November before going out for eight games in late December. He hasn’t missed any action in the past 12 games. Giannis was averaging 27.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 4.8 assists over that time.
After Friday’s loss, the Bucks dropped to 18-26. Without Giannis this year, Milwaukee holds a 3-11 record. They will face another test in the coming weeks, as Giannis’ health and future remain under a microscope.
