Just four seasons ago, the San Francisco Giants shocked the MLB world by winning 107 games and capturing an NL West division championship. While it is unlikely the Braves will continue to struggle like they have and put some of their star players on the market, there is always the possibility that it will happen, and an Atlanta rebuild could be on the horizon
If that is indeed what happens, ESPN has listed prospects James Tibbs III and Dakota Jordan as potential players that could be on the move from San Francisco to Atlanta.
Tibbs and Jordan were both selected by the Giants in last year’s draft and both are off to good starts in their first full season of minor league baseball. Tibbs is batting .256 with two home runs and five RBIs. Jordan is hitting .294 with one home run and 11 runs driven in.
As far as Ozuna’s fit in the Giants lineup, the DH role is currently filled by Wilmer Flores, who has seven home runs this season but is struggling a bit average-wise, as he sits at just .220 on the season. Ozuna on the other hand, is batting .305 with four home runs.
Adding a power bat like Ozuna’s to the lineup could be exactly what San Francisco needs to reach its first divisional championship and postseason appearance since the 2021 season.
