From what might be the world’s largest spider web to a dog’s unique way of going upstairs, this week’s headlines left us speechless, and maybe a bit squirmish. But our readers brought nothing but adorableness thanks to their pets.

This week’s winner brought music to our ears. Owner Elizabeth Gregerson told Newsweek that a children’s toy captured the attention of her golden retriever puppy, Takk. Wanting to mimic the sounds, Takk began howling.
This toy quickly became Takk’s favorite. And the owner has learned over the years that Takk never stops howling whenever this toy goes off.
“This video was taken 4 years ago,” she said. ” Now 4 years old, he asks to hear the toy and still howls with enthusiasm.”
Finalists
Our first finalist has a special spot in the yard that everyone knows to be his. Owner Dianna Edling told Newsweek she and her husband adopted a dog named Jack six years ago.
“He had a gimpy right foot, so we were hesitant to, but our adult daughter said, ‘If you don’t take him, Dad, I’m going to,'” Edling said. “The next day, we brought him home.”
Every day since then has been a blessing with Jack. He enjoys going on rides in the truck, walking with her husband and getting lots of pets from her. But his favorite place to be is in his lounge chair on the deck, which the couple decorated specifically for him. They made a sign that lets everyone know not to sit in it. It’s “Jack’s Lazy Lounge.”
Next up is Evie. Owner Jeannine Ladner told Newsweek that this rescued Chihuahua was dumped by someone, causing damage to her eye that led to it being removed. But that hasn’t slowed Evie down one bit.
“She is fearless and can even catch flies,” Ladner said. “She loves to be in the yard and regularly patrols for unwanted guests such as cats, birds and squirrels. ”
When she’s not guarding her yard, Evie enjoys napping on soft pillows and snuggles. But don’t let her size fool you. She’s a snorer!
And to round out this week is Schnapps, a 3-year-old Bernedoodle. His multicolored fur left an unusual, yet adorable, marking on his back: a smiley face.
Owner Mary Saban told Newsweek that Schnapps was a bit of a “wild” puppy when she first welcomed him home, but now he’s perfect. He also loves to chase bunnies and squirrels.
“My favorite thing about him is his kindness towards everyone he meets and to other dogs,” she said. “Like a typical poodle mix, he has an air about him that’s kind of regal.”
