Golden State Warriors Offering Draymond Green in Giannis Trade: Report
One day, Draymond Green will have a statue outside of the Golden State Warriors’ arena. He will stand alongside Klay Thompson and Steph Curry as his number is retired, the Bay Area fans serenade him, and he gets his flowers for helping build one of the best dynasties in NBA history.
But on Tuesday, two days before the NBA trade deadline, the Warriors are actively trying to trade one of their franchise’s legends for another player who will one day have a statue outside a venue.
The Warriors are doing everything in their power to try to swing a blockbuster trade for Milwaukee Bucks multi-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Multiple reports have already stated they are willing to trade every piece of draft capital they have in their arsenal to get a trade across the line.

ESPN’s Anthony Slater has officially reported that Green’s name is in active trade talks for the Warriors, and that the team is ready to move him if it means bringing back a major piece in return, particularly Antetokounmpo.
Although the Bucks wouldn’t necessarily need or want the defensive maestro Green if they are looking to rebuild, the Warriors’ cornerstone would need to be dealt for salary-cap reasons. Green holds a $25 million cap hit with a $27 million player option for next season.
The Warriors are attempting to maximize their chances to win another ring as Steph Curry edges closer to retirement, and a move for Antetokounmpo is the only realistic chance the franchise has to give them a fighting shot heading into this year’s postseason.
Jimmy Butler, the player the Warriors got last season to attempt getting Curry the help needed to vie for another ring, went down with a season-ending ACL tear against his former team, the Miami Heat, in mid-January.
The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 3:00 PM EST.
