Amid an escalating feud inside the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement between President Donald Trump and one of his staunchest supporters, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, the president has given her a new nickname—Marjorie “Traitor” Greene.
The congresswoman wrote on X on Saturday that because of the president’s rhetoric and commentary about her, she has been receiving “a hot bed of threats” from people “being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.”
Newsweek has reached out to Greene’s press team and the White House for comment via email on Saturday.

The public break between Trump and Greene, a Georgia Republican, marks a rare and significant fissure within the MAGA movement. Greene has served as one of Trump’s most influential surrogates, amplifying his message across the hard-right base and shaping grassroots activism.
Recently, however, she has been among the GOP’s most outspoken internal critics, especially on foreign policy and the Jeffrey Epstein files, in which she signed onto a petition to force a vote to release them. Trump has dismissed renewed attention to the case as “the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax” and claimed Democrats were reviving it to distract from their handling of the government shutdown and other issues.

“Marjorie “Traitor” Green [sic] is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!,” the president posted on Truth Social Saturday morning, misspelling her last name and unveiling a new nickname for her. Trump frequently gives mocking nicknames to people he is sparring with.
In an earlier post Saturday, he referred to her last name as “Brown,” writing “(Green grass turns Brown when it begins to ROT!)” and argued that she has “betrayed the entire Republican Party when she turned Left.”
The post comes the day after he announced in a lengthy Truth Social post that he is “withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene,” in the 2026 midterm elections. He continued, writing, “all I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!”
Greene has been a vocal supporter and defender of Trump for years and has repeatedly called out Democrats for alleged smears against the president.
She wrote in a Friday X post as their feud was bubbling over that the president “attacked me and lied about me.” She added that Trump is “coming after” her in an attempt to “make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote to release the Epstein files.”
In a Saturday update, Greene wrote on X that she is “being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.” She reiterated her longtime backing of Trump, writing he is “the man I supported and helped get elected.”
Her post continued, “As a Republican, who overwhelmingly votes for President Trump‘s bills and agenda, his aggression against me which also fuels the venomous nature of his radical internet trolls (many of whom are paid), this is completely shocking to everyone.”
The Georgia Republican called for the cessation of intense political rhetoric, writing, “The Political Industrial Complex and the toxic violent nature of American politics must end.”
