Health Scare is Changing Jeff Hardy’s Wrestling Style
Jeff Hardy is still dealing with lingering neck issues, but his brother Matt reports that he is making steady progress. On the January 16, 2026, episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt provided an update on Jeff’s condition regarding two bulging discs.
While Jeff remains active in TNA Wrestling, Matt confirmed that the healing process is ongoing and deliberate.
“He’s feeling better. It’s a very slow process,” Matt shared.
The Hardys are currently consulting with medical professionals to manage the pain without resorting to surgery. Matt revealed that a specialist will soon evaluate Jeff to determine if manipulation or other non-invasive treatments can provide relief.
There is optimism regarding the injury, as the discs have not worsened and show signs of improvement. Matt noted that while other wrestlers have undergone minor procedures to shave down disc tissue, Jeff prefers to avoid the knife.
“He would rather do it as naturally and as organically as possible,” Matt explained.

This health scare appears to be shifting Jeff’s perspective on his in-ring style. Matt believes the situation has “freaked out” his brother enough to force him into becoming a more calculated performer.
“Jeff even having this and being a little freaked out by it is going to turn him into a smarter worker, which isn’t a bad thing at his age,” Matt said.

Despite the injury, Jeff is not stepping away from the ring just yet. He is scheduled to defend the TNA Tag Team Championships alongside Matt against The Righteous at the upcoming Genesis event on January 17th in Texas. It’s unclear whether he plans to take time off.
