Hearts Melt Over Labrador Puppy’s First Walk After Having Leg Amputated
The adorable moment a Labrador puppy took her first walk on three legs after being hit by a car has melted hearts online.
The heartwarming video was shared on TikTok (@pippas.journey) showing the first time Pippa went outside for a walk following her leg amputation. The brave pup managed to walk for five minutes before eventually rolling over for some well-earned belly rubs. Nonetheless, she just loved being back outside and adjusting to her new normal.
Pippa is a 6-month-old red fox Labrador who was brought home by her owners in June 2025. However, on October 16, her life was forever changed after being hit by a car. Pippa had to have one of her front legs amputated at the shoulder, as her owners joked that she has “fewer legs, same chaos.”

Two days after surgery, Pippa came hopping out of the vet’s office and was finally able to return home. She has been received plenty of care and attention from her owners during her ongoing recovery.
Pippa’s bravery and resilience have captured plenty of attention online, as internet users have rallied to support the sweet pup. The video showing her first walk on three legs has generated over 74,100 views and more than 3,400 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
Newsweek has contacted @pippas.journey via TikTok for comment. We could not verify the details of the video.
Prior to the amputation, Pippa used to love swimming in the lake, playing with new toys, getting the zoomies, and trips to the beach were her favorites. While this new challenge is certainly a setback, her owners highlight how determined Pippa is and that she will rise, “one step (and three paws) at a time.”
It wasn’t just Pippa’s front leg that was injured by the car accident, as she also has a fractured foot in one of her hind legs. She is sporting a pink cast on her back leg but is still able to walk and put pressure on it.
Pippa’s new journey is only just beginning, but TikTok users are full of support for this three-legged pup. The video of her first walk after the surgery has generated over 180 comments in a matter of days, as social media users praised her fighting spirit.
One comment on the TikTok post reads: “they’re so resilient. I hope she gets well soon! Pippa will be sprinting again in no time!”
Another TikTok user wrote: “Aww look at that beautiful face, she looks so happy to be out.”
Another person replied: “So proud of you both, all power to full tripod recovery.”
While one commenter added: “she’s doing great! She just needs to find her new rhythm and you will be running after her again.”
