Hilarity as ‘Single Dog Mom’ Shares How She Goes to Restroom With Dachshund
A TikTok video showing the creative—and comically relatable—way that one woman manages public restrooms while traveling with her dachshund has gone viral, drawing hundreds of thousands of views and a flood of laughter from fellow pet parents on the platform.
The 3-year-old dachshund, named Rigatoni, was captured outside in New York before a hard cut revealed him inside a bathroom stall, tucked neatly into a sausage-shaped dog carrier that had been hung on the coat hook of the door. Posted by the canine’s owner under @wienofwallstreet on April 24, the video has since been viewed more than 694,000 times and liked by over 115,000 TikTok users.
An overlaid text provided more context: “Rigatoni: ‘Okay mom have fun in the public restroom’ … Me: ‘You too’ … Rigatoni: ‘Me too?'”
“I like to travel a lot and adventure around different neighborhoods in New York City,” Rigatoni’s owner told Newsweek. “I love taking him with me whenever I can.
“He is lucky in the sense that he can come along with me but, as you can see, it does come with some occasionally inconvenient and funny moments like the one posted!”

The owner described Rigatoni as a loyal travel companion, one who is as comfortable navigating neighborhood streets as he is adjusting to cramped stalls and carrier bags—despite how awkward he may look in them.
“I am so lucky to have the most friendly, loving and adventure dog,” the owner said. “We live in Jersey City, but the video was taken in the Seaport during a walk around our old neighborhood.”
The video’s popularity highlights a specific—and often unspoken—challenge of modern pet ownership: what to do when nature calls for the human, but not the hound.
As the post’s caption, “the joys of being a single dog mom who travels with her dog,” made clear, Rigatoni’s owner is looking after him alone.

The quick-hitting clip has struck a chord with pet owners navigating the small and sometimes-awkward realities of taking dogs on city adventures. Since the footage had shown the canine dangling quietly and nonchalantly in his fancy carrier, viewers flooded the comments with amused messages. Some TikTok users shared their own stories about navigating restroom trips with their pets, while many poked fun at Rigatoni’s ordeal in solidarity.
“Rigatoni DO NOT [want to] be there,” one viewer said, while another added: “God forbid a dog wants to catch a vibe.”
“Rigatoni is NOT having the fun he was promised,” a third commented.
Rigatoni’s owner reflected on the viral response and the lighthearted comments.
“The reaction to this video online was fun,” she said. “It is one of those things that no one talks about when traveling with your pet but it is very very real.”
“The stories in the comments of people also having to bring their dogs into the stall with them are hilarious!”
