How Many Points Did Bronny James Score in First-Ever G League Road Game?

The South Bay Lakers took on the Valley Suns on Thursday night and came away with the loss. But In the game, rookie guard Bronny James made his first-ever road game debut, showing a shift in thinking from the Lakers.
Initially, Los Angeles was only allowing the rookie to play in home games within the G League. But the team decided that James would suit up for this game in Phoenix.

While James struggled over his first few games in the G League, he has seemed to pick things up in his last few games. James posted 30 points, three rebounds, and two assists for South Bay in this contest.
This strong performance comes off a good performance in his last game as well. James scored 16 points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished out two assists in the last contest.
The rookie has started to figure things out and it’s been great to see. James even had a massive highlight play during the first half, throwing down a lob from teammate Sir’Jabari Rice.
Even with all the outside noise coming at him, James has continued to put his head down and just play basketball. The rookie even spoke about his desire to learn everything and get better with each day.
“I think it’s good,” James said. “Just game by game, just trying to learn everything that I can. Always just staying aggressive and playing my game. Playing for my teammates and the coaches. It’s been good.”

The Lakers have had faith that James would pan out and he is at least showing them some signs of progress. Los Angeles believes James can eventually be an impactful player at the NBA level, even if he still has a long way to go.
His defensive instincts have always been there so it’s a great sign that his offense is finally coming along.
James has been shuffling back and forth between the G League and the NBA as he goes through the development plan that the Lakers put in place. If he can continue to string together strong performances at the G League level, the Lakers may elect to give him some run time in the NBA down the line.
