In the third round, Shell Shock defeated No. 5 seed NXT Era Elite 68-62 while Best Virginia easily took care of the No. 1 seed in its bracket, Elite Nation, with a 79-68 victory.
Best Virginia features West Virginia alums, as well as some other players. The players on the roster are Eduardo Andre, Isaiah Sanders, J.D. Weatherspoon, James Reese V, Jarrod West, John Flowers, Kedrian Johnson, Toby Okani, Tre Mitchell, Wesley Harris, and Will Vorhees.
Shell Shock features the following players, including a large number of Maryland alums: Andre Fox, Anthony Tarke, Darryl Morsell, Diamond Stone, Eric Ayala, Jeff Allen, Kevon Voyles, Kyle Cardaci, LG Gill, Melo Trimble, Ronald March, Terrell Stoglin, Carun Ram, and Xavier Green.
Now in its 12th season, The Basketball Tournament is an open-invitation, single-elimination tournament featuring teams from around the country competing for a $1 million prize. The tournament is unique in that it uses the Elam Ending, a rule that sets a target score near the end of the fourth quarter, with the first team to that score winning the game.
