The Warriors missed out on a golden opportunity to gain ground on the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference, with Denver resting Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray on the road, still, in a stunning result, it was Denver who pulled out a 114-105 victory. Jimmy Butler led the Warriors with 23 points, with Stephen Curry adding 20, but they shot just 8-for-33 from the 3-point line and couldn’t stop Aaron Gordon, who scored 38 points in the win.
After starting the season 2-8 and going through a midseason slump where they lost six out of eight games, the Bucks have clawed their way back up the Eastern Conference, currently sitting in the No. 4 seed. Most recently, they had a 121-105 setback at the hands of the league-leading Oklahoma City Thunder. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a triple-double, with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Damian Lillard went 11-for-11 from the free-throw line to chip in with 19 points.
The Bucks and Thunder played once earlier in the season, with the Warriors winning 125-11 in Milwaukee. This will be their final matchup of the season.
