Kansas State surrendered 16 points in the final seven minutes last week as Utah came from behind for a 51-47 win at home. Joe Jackson’s 24-yard touchdown run put the Wildcats up 47-35, but K-State’s two-point conversion try was intercepted and returned for a two-pointer for the Utes, who then scored two touchdowns in the final 2:47 to get the victory. Jackson ran wild, finishing with 293 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries, while Antonio Martin Jr. had 89 yards and a score, and Avery Johnson picked up 72 yards with a TD while also throwing for 102 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Kansas State finished with 472 rushing yards.
Colorado lost its fourth straight game last week as Arizona State came to Boulder and left with a 42-17 victory, scoring three fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull away. Julian Lewis finished with 161 yards and a touchdown pass, but won’t play this week to retain his redshirt status. Dallan Hayden has 65 yards and a score on 10 carries, and Omarion Miller caught a TD pass. The Buffaloes’ defense surrendered 580 yards, 355 of them coming on the ground. The defense forced four turnovers in the loss.
The programs renewed their rivalry last season upon Colorado’s return to the Big 12, with the Buffaloes claiming a 31-28 win at home on Oct. 12, 2024, to take a 45-21-1 all-time lead in the series.
